“The Backpack Programme”. : Direction for our times will be running 3 Backpack Summer Camps in three locations in the Kilmore Diocese throughout July. This course is designed to provide you with the essential skills you require for life such as managing stress, how to set & achieve goals and learn more about your spirituality. One of those locations is Ballinamore, and the camp will take place in Ballinamore Community School from July 17th -21st. For further information contact 083 4877325 or 049 4373040 .

The Backpack Programme is a fantastic guide for students (at TY level in particular) taking them on a journey where they are safe to explore the challenges of teen life; from anxieties and establishing safe boundaries in school/friendships/relationships to the BIG question of Who is God and establishing a relationship with Him through Church. Having received very positive feedback during the pilot phase in the Kilmore Diocese, the programme is now being made available to all teachers/chaplains/youth ministry workers who wish to use it. backpack Having met with the writers I am struck by the quality of content, as it connects psychology, science, mental health and spirituality in a vibrant and powerful way. As the student work book tag line describes, The Backpack Programme equips young people with essential tools for life. Visit the Backpack Programme Website to learn more about this fantastic resource, where you can view the support video resources,  words from the co-developer of The Backpack Programme/Psychotherapist, Margaret McGahon, promotion material, student feedback etc.
